Wednesday Evening Sailing At Island Barn Reservoir Sailing Club - Is that Gareth in a Laser!
This week is the last in the current series, and just to clarify this race does count towards the series and is not a fun race (previous years this was the case). At present we do not have a duty team, so if any of you have not done a duty yet, or would be prepared to volunteer for a second duty (some of us have already done 2), can you please let me know.
This year’s series has been a great success, turnouts have year on year continued to improve, average this year has been 22 boats (last year 18), with our highest being 29 one week. Gareth has already won the series (our very own Ben Ainslie), with Paul Wright-Anderson second – well done guys. However the lower places are still up for grabs, as is the Personal handicap series.
The series is run by the competing sailors, well done for carry out your duties so diligently. I would also like to thank those that have helped me with the catering this year, and also to Glen for keeping us watered, and finally to Jim our results master and author of our weekly report .
Kirstie is cooking Thai Green Curry, the Prize giving will follow the food and the weather is looking pleasant, all very good reasons to come and enjoy the last race in the series.
See you on Wednesday.
