Island Barn Reservoir Sailing Club offers a wide variety of sailing and boating courses for adults (16+) and juniors (ages 8-15). Whether you're looking for relaxing cruising or to hone your competitive racing, learn to sail in Surrey, just 15 miles from Charing Cross!
Our courses combine the excitement of sailing with the laid-back atmosphere you'll only get at a friendly club such as Island Barn. At the end of the course, you will be invigorated, relaxed and smiling! And you'll take away a skill for life.

Adult Sailing - TrySail
The Tuesday night TrySail is the perfect opportunity to try out sailing and get a relaxed and sociable taster of the sport within an informal but structured programme. Try sailing at a low cost, less than 8 per session, when purchased as a complete season!

Junior Sailing School
The Junior Sailing School offers sailing instruction every summer Sunday afternoon for complete beginners up to skilled racers, with ages ranging from 7 to 17, in a safe, friendly, environment. Instruction is given in single handed Oppies, Toppers, Laser 4.7s, Laser Radials and double handed Fevas. No previous experience is need to join the Barn Owls Oppie course.

For those sailors who have completed the TrySail or simply want to improve thier sailing skills and confidence then our new TryRace course offers all the training needed to take you to the finish line of a sailing race.
